Jay was born in Ames, Iowa to Otto and Barb Ringgenberg. He has two brothers (one a twin) and two sisters. Jay grew up in Kelley, Iowa, attended school at Ballard in Huxley and graduated in 1986. He attended College in Davenport, Iowa where he received an associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering. He returned to the Ames area and accepted a position as a press operator/shift manager at a Story City printing company. During this time he met Michelle. They have now been married for 19 years and have two kids who currently attend school at Colo-Nesco.
After a seven year stint in printing, Jay went back to the electrical field, worked for Brice Electric for five years and obtained his Journeyman License.
Jay moved on to Mechanical Comfort Inc. in Ames to concentrate more on the commercial side of the electrical trade. He was soon promoted to project leader as well as bidding jobs for the company. He also earned his Master Electrical license while employed here.
In 2007, Jay started Power Source Electric. He is committed to offering quality electric service at affordable rates.
Jay enjoys watching his son and daughter play school sports in his free time. Not only is he a devoted tradesman, husband and father, he is also co-founder and chief cook for Smokehouse 72 competition cooking.
