We believe it is beneficial for people to know as much as they can about the people that do work for them, not only in a professional nature, but in a personal light as well.
My name is Michael Gaedke and I am the owner of Gaedke Plumbing. I grew up in the small town of Colo, Iowa, where I attended all 13 years of schooling. After graduating in 1983, I worked as a printing press operator and a couple other odd jobs. I realized that something just didn’t feel right. A few recruiters kept calling me, so I decided to talk to them. I felt like they may have something to offer me. Before I knew it, I had enlisted in the United States Navy.
During my five years as a Navy Seabee, I learned the plumbing trade while traveling around the world. I visited places many could only dream of visiting. I even had the chance to travel to locations that my father had been, many years past, as a Gunner’s Mate during The Korean War. It was truly a great experience and ended up becoming the best life decision I have ever made.
After my time in the Navy, I moved around from state to state continuing to work as a plumber. I had a child and moved to Indiana for eight years where I earned my Indiana Master Plumber’s license. In 2003 my son and I moved back to Iowa, where I eventually met the love of my life. She had two kids of her own and we all ended up settling down together in Colo. Ironically, she had grown up in Maxwell, 13 miles from Colo. We had never met, but know many of the same people. We got married a year later and the rest, as they say, is history.
Once I returned to Iowa, I worked for a few local companies, earned my Iowa Master Plumber’s license, and started my own business. My wife was the driving force in the decision and in October of 2006, we started Gaedke Plumbing. Our goal is to provide excellent service at a competitive price. As consumers ourselves, we understand that people deserve the right to excellent service. We want to make your plumbing experience as pleasant as possible.
Above and beyond our trademark service, we provide a 25% discount to all fellow veterans, active duty personnel and seniors 60 and over.
Ours and the surrounding communities have welcomed us with open arms. We are very fortunate to be able to serve these people. It's good to see so many familiar faces, as well as many new.
Our declaration to our costomers is to continue as our motto states,
“Pride in Professionalism, Proud to Serve”
